Again... Sorry I had forgotten to do Music Wednesday....

Hi everyone, sorry I had forgotten to do Music Wednesday, again! Sigghh, let's make something clear. I may forget to do Music Wednesday, but I'll surely make up for it; today I'll be doing a Music Thursday!

So today I'll talk about a song; Trojans by Atlas Genius. Now, Atlas Geniusmay be considered indie (I don't quite like that categorising of music), but they're also considered alternative. The genre alternative actually is a subgenre of rock, and originated from the indie scene. Back to the song, I quite like it as the introduction is simple and has a resounding melody. I'll talk about the lyrics first, basically what the song's about

Metaphorically, a "trojan horse" is trick where the target would invite the foe into a securely protected area. "Your trojan's in my head" this comes to show that the protagonist has got someone playing tricks in his mind. Well I'm not too sure, if you've your own interpretation of the song, please share with me in the chat box above. Or leave a comment.

This wraps up today's music Thursday! Have a great day ahead, all of you.
Till next time!

The weather in Singapore is soo cool these days!

Recently, it's been raining almost every night - which makes the weather so cool! Singapore has a warm and humid weather, hitting up to 35 degrees celsius or more! So I've been really grateful and thankful for the weather, hitting cooler temperatures; 30 degrees by day and 27 degrees at night on average. That's quite a big difference, no matter how insignificant the numerical difference may be. I've also been sleeping better, getting an average of 6 hours of sleep a night.

I'm going out soon, and I want to wish all of you a brilliant day ahead!
Till next time,
Mark

Flying for a while

Today I'll be talking about a feeling J get. Have you ever felt so happy, that you're flying, soaring in the air; you're elated. If I could fly, I'd nor want to ever come back down. However, I say for a while, mainly because life is never that smooth sailing. So I came up with the phrase while listening to a song use that phrase. The day I fly endlessly, will be when this phrase will change to "soaring forever".

I'm not sure how this post may relate to you, but "flying for a while" would also refer to my mood swings; I'd go up high, only to sink back low down. Christ lives in me, I live by my own free will; Christ never changes and never will. This would only mean that while I may have my mood swings, God will stay true to His word and pick me back up. I won't bounce back immediately, right now He's teaching me patience. I believe that's why my healing process is slow; I've not only got to be patient with others, but myself.

That's all for today, till next time!

To Kill a Mockingbird's the
second literature book I did when I was in secondary school.
I liked the book, it was educating us to be morally right; not
to be racist.

This is one of the quotes in the book which I really like.
It is so true, no one can truly comprehend another.
No one except God Himself.
But I'd also like to add one more quote that fits
the book nicely. It's not found in the book
but I'll bet it'll fit nicely.
"Be grateful for what you've got,
Only then
Can you appreciate it." That I learnt, and I believe I shared
that in one of my earlier posts as well.

Till next time,
Mark

Music Thursday!

I apologise for my tardiness, promise I'll do my best to remember Music Wednesday. Alright! Today I'll be talking about a song by Angus and Julia Stone; Chocolates and Cigarettes.

The song is very simple and the melody revolves around the main melodic riff played by the pianom that repeats throughout the song. The vocalist's voice is really tender and easy on the ears, the genre is really interesting. It's not Indie, not exactly pop, I would say Indie Pop. All their songs are like that. Still they're good to listen to.

Ahhhh! Sorry I forgot about Music Wednesday!!

Sorry I had forgotten about Music Wednesday again, I promise I'll do Music Thursday for sure! For now, good night!

Jimmy Fallon & Selena Gomez Cover "Mario Kart Love Song"

Hi everyone, this video of Selena Gomez and Jimmy Fallon covering the Mario Kart Love Song, is so nice and cute. I really like watching Jimmy Fallon, if you don't know who he is, go check him out on YouTube. I for one, think he's the best talk show host! Watch any episode, you'll see.

Till next time!!

Most psycho American Idol contestant ever; Mary Roach. But she'll do good in the music industry.

She'll do good in the music industry.
She'll do good in the music industry as a grunge vocalist, I totally like her voice in that view. It's like she has multiple personalities. Not saying that it's good nor cool, I'm saying that it's remarkable. The way she handles herself despite the voices in her head. That's my take, my opinion; that she is not entirely crazy. She's lucid enough to control herself.

Why, why, why?

I always say "try, try, try", but I never did stop to ask myself "why, why, why"? It is redundant to keep trying but seemingly make no progress. I've come up with an answer, "if we never try, how will we ever know we can". Well today I stand corrected; you shouldn't simply keep trying, though it is good, but you should try, attempt with faith in yourself.

God may help us, but He can't if we don't cry out and talk to Him about what problems we have, though because He is the omni-present, all knowing God, He works in different ways.. I've been there, I've done that; been through my accident, hardship, and God helped me. No matter what you may lack, God has a purpose for creating you, so don't ever give up. In fact, He strongly treasures each one of us, we are His Children. But what if one day your world totally falls apart? Well don't worry, there's nothing God can't do for you or through you.

God's also called the Alpha and the Omega; the beginning and the end. He knows what's going to happen next in your life, He has everythiing planned out. "God has never done anything in my life, I'm just an ordinary nobody" Well I can tell you that's the devil whispering those pessimistic thoughts in your head. "Don't worry", do you know God says that in the bible?  It's a command for us not to worry, leave all the hard work to God, well okay, not all haha! We can't have such a laidback attitude to life, which God gave, life to our bodies, we can't be so laidback until we don't care. We care, we love, we hate. We are humans.

Peace, shalom be unto you,
Mark

She's beautiful

Another thing you might not know about me; I've had a crush on a certain girl and still do now, It's was back in 2007, I've had been talking to Kimberley, the girl I've a crush on, since and it came apart later after my accident. That aside, we used to talk for, like, half an hour. Not daily haha! Then I didn't have as much free time :P Our friendship hasn't been broken, more like now it's just awkward, and I'll talk more about that later.

So I started liking Kimbeley since 2007 and now it's 2013 coming 2014. I guess what attracted me to her was her character; bubbly and happy and she has a wide smile! I miss her, has been 3 and a half years since I last saw her. Still my feelings toward her haven't changed. I wrote her a letter, now I just need a nice nice stamp <3 I really think, I know she'll like the letter! Oh goshh... I wonder when I can get the stamp and finally mail it to her. I can't say for sure that I love her, like the definition for love; what is it? I'm still not sure, and if you say love is simply caring and having a strong fondness for the person, then I'd love everybody. "Love your neighbour as yourself" a saying I believe in, derived from the bible. However if you love your neighbour as yourself, then what would get you into a relationship? That's something that I still struggle with, I've no idea how I've managed to pull myself together this far in, but I'm beginning to get slightly desperate for a girlfriend.

Ahhhh forget it, more importantly, I'VE MANAGED TO GET THE CHAT BOX UP! WHOOOO! Alright, so feel free to leave me your feedback in the chatbox, I should see it if you key it in. Till next time then! Cheerios!

Be grateful, then appreciate, now rejoice

I'd think I've led quite a rough road, and I'm grateful that I've emerged strong from this trial. Following that, I have now much appreciation for life alone. Now I'm overjoyed that this phrase of life is almost over. All I've to do now, is continue living life with a happy heart and a spirit that only looks out for what lays ahead infront of me. Living that lifestyle is going to include continuing this blog and I might be having two days where I'll write simply based on music alone. Other days, I'll write on topics ranging from religious views, politics, food, etcetera. Right now I'm going to poop, till next time!

What piece of technology makes your life easier?

I came across this question on Ask.FM, and I gave it a one line answer. Here, I'll address the question more elaborately.

Well, I ask you "What piece of technology makes your life easier?" As for me, I answered the question with this: The iPhone; not only is it a phone, it is also like a minature computer. Then, I can access Facebook, take an incoming call, both on the same device. Thinking about it more, I conclude that there's no singular piece of technology that can make life easier. Having a hard time choosing clothes, would simply mean that you require either a more organised way of storing your clothes or a superbly smart digital closet to help organise your clothes.

I answered "what piece of technology makes your life easier?" with " The iPhone; not only is it a phone, it is also like a minature computer. Then, I can access Facebook, take an incoming call, both on the same device." In terms of efficiency, I feel that the iPhone's one of the most influential inventions; it has so many functions, an operating system that has been modified such that there is an IOS 7.1. So... alright I stand by my answer. The question's asking about your life, and the iPhone most certainly has made my life much easier.

Till another blog post, till then, Mark

Slowly, but eventually, change is evident

Recently I've realised something awesome, a drastic improvement in my walking! My balance is also getting better, now I can pretty much march! Heh, much march; I just used alliteration! I like literature. All of this improvement was never something I'd anticipate. Initially, progress was slow, before I knew it, three years have passed, this being the fourth year, now I can walk much better and my balance sure has improved! Seeing that now, I can march! I sure am grateful to my God for this improvement, therefore I can appreciate my well-being. I have recently concluded my life thus far, and I conclude that in order to appreciate things, you first have got to be grateful for it.

Also recently, I have, and am learning Japanese online; at www.japanesepod101.com. It may not be free, but it is efficient if you wish to learn Japanese! So far, I have learnt how to introduce myself. :/ Yeah that's it so far. The ironic thing is that I had signed up early this year in January, and I had only been slacking up to this point. Only recently last week, I resumed lessons and learning the language. Even though I've wasted roughly four-tenth of the subscribtion. I'd say the other sixth-tenth is all I need to roughly learn the language; and I'm sure that'll be enough to be better than my Chinese. My Chinese isn't too bad, although it was average when I was schooling, but it pretty much sucked; I've a bit of photographic memory and that has helped me to merely pass Chinese in examinations, haha! Alright now, till next time!

Angus And Julia Stone - Memories Of An Old Friend (Full Album)

Today I'm doing an additional post, simply because I don't want to miss out on blogging about this brother-sister duo. What I like about this group is that their music is so laidback, they aren't trying too hard - other bands have 4 instruments on average, but this group is well-off with one acoustic guitar and an acoustic drumset. If you ask me, their music calms me down; it's so gentle and oh-so sweet sounding.

Julia Stone has gone solo with a band. Check out her song "Justine"

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Pretty Little Ditty (Album Version)

http://www.youtube.com/v/Te6ja9lp7vc?version=3&autohide=1&autoplay=1&attribution_tag=W6W3qOxV6OxK4zhtDNs52Q&autohide=1&showinfo=1&feature=share

Sorry yesterday I had forgotten to do my Music Wednesday. So just for today, it's going to be a music Thursday!

Anyway, today I'll be talking about the genre, funk.

Funk is a mixture of soul, R&B and with some jazz, orginating in the late 1960s. The Red Hot Chili Peppers is an example of a band that plays funk music. Funk is an interesting genre with several influences from other genres like how it's syncopated rhythms come from jazz's influence, while the melody is influenced from soul and R&B. Funk also has that groovy and catchy bass line, or guitar riff, or solo. In this song below, I'll let you hear, there're the usual instruments, a guitar, bass, drums and even a trumpet! Believe me, I feel that this is the best song by RHCP.

The person I am

Today I'll be writting on two subjects; Music Wednesday and The Person I Am, but I'll be doing Music Wednesday a tad later in the afternoon.

All of you would probably know me superficially; I like music, I'm an interesting person (I hope so!), I'm a survivor from a car accident. Today, I'd like to share deeper with you, the person I am. I'd like to see myself as a pretty simple guy. I also am a perfectionist to a certain extent; I want to get the job done well, speed is not priority, but quality is. I may stress about the task at hand, but eventually, if the task isn't all that important, I'll drop it. I'm not exactly an animal-hater, nor am I a lover. I have no preference for cats or dogs or birds whatsoever. As long as the animal is cute and adorable, it's hard not to give it attention.

Something else you may not know about me, is that I really like languages. I want to learn Japanese so badly, that though I don't have a class, I signed up for Japanese lessons online for two years! What's wasted right not is that I've already wasted three-quaters of the first year! Ahhhh!!

One more thing you should know about me, I'm a non-conformist. I dislike anything mainstream, with little mainstream songs that I find exceptionally good. Movie-wise, I don't mind mainstream films, but I really like indie films and sundance award winner. One film I really want to watch is Don Jon; comedy with Scarlette Johansson, Juliane Moore, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. However it's rated R21 D: I'm just two years younger! Ahhh but oh well, now there's another indie film I really want to watch; The End Of Love directed by Mark Webber. No not the F1 Racer, a different person with the same name. Yeah I, too, thought that Mark Webber raced and directed, but no hahahah!  Alright now, I'll blog and do Music Wednesday later! Cya!

Back to blogging! I'm back!

Alright, so it's been about two months since I've last blogged, and now I'm back! What happened to me? Let's call it a timeout from life itself, trying my best not to do anything much and simply kick back and relax. It has also been a period that I took to think my life through carefully; wish I had died, why me? What made me change my mindset? I was just typing a Facebook post, saying that I am grateful for all the friends that I have. Most importantly I'm happy because I know that Christ lives in me - I'm a Christian - I know that I have a purpose that God created me to accomplish, and I'm not dead because I still have a calling God wants me to fulfil. Don't ask me what it is, I haven't a clue as well, but I know He'll reveal it to me someday, somehow.

I'll still be doing my "Music Wednesdays", starting from tomorrow, the 13th of November! I'll talk about anything regarding music; a genre, an album, an artist/group/solo artist, a song. The list could go on if I could think of anything more regarding music. Till tomorrow! See you(:
